Terms and Conditions

Bank of Ceylon holds the authority to change, add, revise or remove the terms, conditions and facilities offered for BOC ‘My Health’ Savings accounts.

It is advisable to contact your nearest BOC Branch or our Call Centre on 011 220 4444 for the latest information and prevailing terms and conditions.

Annual No Claim Bonus

A bonus payment based on the interest earned during a calendar year is paid at the end of each calendar year, for accounts with no withdrawals during the particular period.


Free Surgical & Health Insurance Cover 

Insurance Cover upto Rs.250,000/- per annum for surgical/hospitalization due to accidents or critical illnesses declared by Bank


Eligible age

At account opening :  18-60 Years
At the time of claim :  19-70 Years


Required account Balance

A Minimum balance of Rs. 250,000/-  maintained for a continuous period of 12 months immediately prior to the date of the incident.(Subject to maximum No. of days/ times imposed by the Insurance Company.)


Insurance Cover

Surgical/Hospitalization of account holder in a Government or Private hospital due to;

 i.         Accidents

ii.         Following critical illnesses declared by Bank –

  • Kidney failure
  • Cancer
  • Brain Tumor
  • Stroke
  • Leukemia
  • Appendicitis
  • Hernia
  • Coma
  • Parkinson
  • Dementia
  • Paralysis
  • Major Organ Transplant
  • Heart disease - Coronary artery surgery(ByPass),
  • heart valve surgery, Angioplasty


Annual Health Insurance Cover :

Up to an annual Overall Limit of Rs. 250,000/- per customer



  • Per Day Cover

Rs.5,000/- per day, subject to the maximum annual limit of Rs.250,000/-, irrespective of Government or Private Hospitalization.(Subject to maximum No. of days/ times imposed by the Insurance Company.)


  • Bill Reimbursement Facility

Actual expenses incurred up to an Annual Overall Limit- Rs.   250,000/- 
(Subject to maximum room charges per day of Rs.5,000/- and item wise maximum limits imposed by Insurance company.


Other Terms & Conditions

 i.   Insurance claims should be made only for accidents or critical illnesses mentioned above and not eligible for prolonged or congenial diseases or for any other diseases.  

ii.   The insurance claims are subject to the terms and conditions imposed by the Insurance Company.

iii.   Insurance cover is valid for treatments obtained within Sri Lanka.

iv.   The required minimum balance, eligibility criteria and benefits may be amended time to time at the discretion of the Bank.


Health Check up Reimbursement Facility

Annual  Reimbursement facility of Rs.12,500/- is available for account holders who have maintained a minimum balance of Rs.500,000/- for a continues period of 12 months at the time of request a reimbursement


Eligible Tests/Health checkups - Any Health Checkup / Medical Test conducted in the name of the account holder


Required Documents-

               i.      Request Form for Health Checkup Reimbursement (Collect from Branch)

              ii.     Doctor’s prescription in the name of the account holder for the health Check up/Test

             iii.      Original bill/s in the name of the account holder
