Instructions to open SDA for Personal customers

   Applications to be downloaded

1. SDA Customer Registration Form
2. SDA Savings Account Opening Application
3. SDA Fixed Deposit Opening Application
4. KYC (Know Your Customer)

   In addition to the above, following documents need to be forwarded,

      If a non-resident customer

1. Copy of Passport

2. Copy of foreign address verification document

3. Copy of the valid employment visa/permit granted by a foreign government

4. Proof documents for source of funds

      If a resident customer

1. Copy of valid NIC/Passport/Driving License

2. If permanent address in identification document differs from the residential address, it has to be supported by a copy of a utility bill not over 3 months

Special Note: Non-resident customer who sent scanned documents will be required to forward original applications and other supporting documents, duly authorized by the BOC Business Promotion Officer in abroad or Sri Lankan Embassy of the respective country or A Notary/ Solicitor having a registered License (The license number should be indicated for verification) before the maturity of their respective SDA.

2. If documents are in order, Bank will open SDA Saving account and the Account Number will be informed to customer via email for his/her to remit money to open the SDA Fixed Deposit.

4. If customer is already maintaining an Inward Investment Account (IIA) or account with the Offshore Banking Unit, those accounts can be used to remit money to open SDA FD without opening a new SDA Saving Account.
